The tC has remained a favorite among Scion’s scant lineup, and for 2011 the compact coupe received a much needed update. But now reports suggest the tC may be offered in more daring bodystyles as well.

According to Inside Line, a new convertible Scion tC will be introduced for 2012. Toyota’s youth-oriented brand has never had a convertible model, and if it makes it to showrooms it would become the only convertible offering in either Scion or Toyota’s lineup.

A Scion tC convertible would likely be very closely based on the redesigned 2011 model. Powering the new tC is a 180 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed sequential-shift automatic.

Currently, the tC commands 30 percent of Scion’s sales. With a based price of around $17K, a convertible tC could become one of the most affordable drop tops available, undercutting other low-cost convertibles such as the Ford Mustang or Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder.

Don’t be fooled by its size. Small packages do make bold statements at this weeks, New York International Auto Show. A futuristic style gives the new 2011 Scion iQ a sexier interior and exterior with its clean lines. You’ll experience an adventurous ride in this one-of-a-kind vehicle.

Inside the 2011 Scion iQ, four seats are available, still providing enough leg room. Including, electric power steering , a compact air conditioning unit, and so much more. The 2011 Scion iQ offers a smooth ride with many safety elements. Fully intact with an anti-lock braking system, brake assist, traction control, and vehicle stability control.

Extremely alert and daring. The 2011 Scion iQ shows aggressiveness from its powerful engine. A 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine produces over 90 horsepower, plus many more features. Enjoy a thrill-ride in this small, but yet fierce machine. Toyota is producing all-new vehicles to improve much of its lost sales.

Densely populated urban areas will particularly benefit from iQ, which is precisely why Boston Toyota and Scion dealers are especially eager for the arrival of this exciting new model. But even for commuters that don’t need to navigate tight spaces, the iQ will be great for long hauls as well thanks to its ultra high mileage engine, light weight, and continuously variable transmission. Although MPG estimates have yet to be released, expect mileage to be in the high 30s.

Scion sticks to its promise of bringing a more sportier look and safer features. The newest member of the Scion family is the 2011 Scion tC, which can be seen on display at the New York Auto Show. Supplied with high-quality interior and performance with the best warranties, and so much more. Surely, setting the bar high for its competitors. Scion hopes the new redesign helps bring a positive influence on sales.

Not only is the 2011 Scion tC available in a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower. But, it comes in two 6-speed engines, along with an automatic transmission. Receiving the best fuel economy, estimating from 23 mpg in the city and 30 mg in the highway. Mostly, influencing customers attention with its perfect, “on a budget” price.

Is this the right car for you? If you have the urge to see the 2011 Scion tC in person, the New York Auto Show still has upcoming and exciting events about the 2011 Scion tC. Getting caught up in all the talk about the new Scion will have you happily lounging in one of Scion’s most spacious vehicles. Watch how the 2011 Scion tC is the ultimate choice for the future.

The updated tC’s launch, while a bit overdue, will likely find stellar demand. Toyota Boston dealers have found that consumers are steadily enticed by the fun-to-drive dynamics, fuel efficiency, and value found in compact Toyota models, such as the Corolla, Yaris, and of course each and every Scion. However, that’s not to say these models don’t have their work cut out. Other import dealers like Nissan Seattle believe that offerings like the Nissan Versa and upcoming Juke crossover will give the Scion lineup a run for its money. Either way, stay tuned for the compact segment to get even more heated.

When the first-generation Scion xB hit the U.S. some seven years ago, it did exactly what Toyota hoped it would do: Jump start its new division with an exterior design that was radically different from anything else on American roads. That iconic “box on wheels” appearance, combined with a low price, useful interior and relatively good gas mileage, made for a polarizing package, but it was one that inspired near-fanatical levels of interest among its devotees.

Then came a 2007 redesign that seemed specifically targeted at un-quirking the whole deal. The new xB grew rounder, longer, bigger, heavier, less fuel efficient and more expensive, and customers began turning away from the Scion as quickly as they had at first flocked to it.

Through the first two months of 2010, xB sales were down 9.2 percent, and that’s compared to January and February of 2009, when industry sales were at their nadir. It’s just barely conceivable that some of this fallout can be explained by the Toyota recallathon—although the xB wasn’t one of the vehicles recalled—but the fact of the matter is that the Scion’s sales were actually worse in January than in February, which was when Toyota’s quality woes began, uh, accelerating.

It’s likely Scion had all this in mind when it was time to refresh the xB for the 2011 model year, as the biggest difference is a new front fascia that brings back a key design element from the original: A distinct underbite.

Unfortunately, as with the exterior dimensions, the car’s new chin has grown significantly over the original’s and is now approaching Leno-esque proportions admits Salt Lake City Toyota dealers. And it doesn’t help any that Scion designers seem to have randomly decided to add big cooling vents up front as well.

Although the Honda Element as not been freshly updated like the xB, Portland Honda suggests that the xB’s styling is somewhat more polarizing than Honda’s counterpart, and therefore explains a more diverse range of buyers. Another competitor that takes more of a luxurious approach to the the compact crossover is the Hyundai Tucson which has consistently seen demand at Birmingham Hyundai. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but luckily this segment offers consumers plenty of choices.

Needless to say, the end result isn’t pretty—but it is pretty funky-looking and that may be exactly what Scion needs to get sales on the move again.

New Toyota Scion xB

Scion was a tremendously successful experiment by Toyota to venture head long into the fickle, but lucrative youth market. The first wave of Scion models had stood out from t the crowd, especially the boxy Scion xB which was the brands strongest seller at its launch. Despite initial successes, the Scion brand is facing increasingly slower sales that may force Toyota to readdress its strategy.

Currently the Scion brand has three models, including the recent redesign xB, the xD which in essence replaces the xA hatchback, and the now aging tC coupe. The latter is due for a full redesign in 2010 but has had a few minor updates since its 2005 introduction.

Despite some refreshed Scion models, the brand has faced month after month of sales decreases. Due to these struggles, Toyota may be in a situation similar to that of General Motors who is facing consecutive sales decreases among the Saturn brand.

Toyota is one of the few automakers that have successfully tapped into the youth market. In addition, rather than building a car around the youth market, Toyota built an entire brand and all-new model lineup to meet the demands of this niche. Customization is one of the main characteristics of this brand according to Scion Rochester dealers, with Toyota offering plenty of unique parts and accessories for buyers to put their own stamp on their vehicles.

Despite the successful penetration of the Scion brand within the youth market, falling sales have contributed to concerns about the brand longevity, even while new models are coming down the pipeline. This is a both a shock to the brand and its customers since the Scion brand was such a hit with its first-generation models.

Car sales overall are down in the US, which is a fact that Toyota and Scion simply could not have avoided. However, additional momentum may be required for the brand, especially considering that the recent xB and all-new xD took too long to hit dealer showrooms says personnel at Golden Valley MN Toyota. Executives also have noted that because of the niche and how Scion vehicles are marketing, more time is required to gain traction. Unfortunately, that traction is still being sought, as Scion sales have fell since 2007 by nearly 25%.

But competition has also been a factor in sales losses at Scion. There are two types of buyers that are attracted to the Scion brand: those looking for a cheap car, and those looking to buy a stylish or ‘cool’ car. Although the Scion brand may still hold a ‘cool’ image, it certainly isn’t alone in offering cheap vehicles. From the new Nissan Versa to the Honda Fit, a popular model among younger customers at Louisiana Honda dealer, the compact and subcompact segment is more crowded than ever before, with plenty of choices for buyers looking for savings.

Although sales at aren’t impressive, and with Toyota Dealer Minneapolis concerned about the longevity of the youth-oriented brand, Scion and Toyota dealers are crossing their fingers for new models, with the ultimate goal of reigniting the hype that helped first-generation Scion models.
