A new limited-edition pickup from Toyota will soon be headed to dealerships—and off-road playgrounds—across the country, but it’s making its first stop in the wilds of Las Vegas. That’s the site of the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) blowout, which this year will be ground zero for the introduction of the Toyota Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.

“The Tacoma has long been the sales leader by a wide margin in the compact pickup segment thanks to its well-earned reputation for stellar quality, durability, reliability and off-road capability,” said Bob Carter, group vice president and general manager, Toyota Division. “The limited-edition TRD T|X Baja Series adds another chapter to Toyota’s truck legacy by offering a new level of capability for off-road enthusiasts.”

The Baja Series will pick up where the Tacoma’s TRD T|X and TRD T|X Pro trucks leave off, leveraging the kind of off-road expertise that already has earned Toyota a plethora of competition titles in iconic events like the Baja 500 and Baja 1000.

Designed to enhance the excitement on tap in Tacoma Access and Crew Cab 4X4 models, the TRD T|X Baja Series package includes a powerful 4.0-liter V6 engine mated to either a six-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission, then piles on the performance boosters, with:

An electronically controlled locking rear differential

Toyota’s Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) system

Hill-Start Assist and Downhill Assist Control technologies

Knockout BF Goodrich T/A KO tires on bead-lock-style off-road wheels

A TRD cat-back exhaust

Two more inches of front ride height

Unique Baja Series graphics

An upgraded suspension featuring 60-mm Bilstein race shocks with TRD coil springs at the front and

50-mm piston-style Bilstein shocks at the rear

That suspension also delivers enhanced wheel travel, with extra component protection, greater heat dissipation and improved damping sensitivity.

Pricing and other information about the TRD T|X Baja Series truck—which will be built in the U.S. at Toyota’s facility in San Antonio—will be released closer to its expected on-sale date in the spring of 2012.

Even as it worked to recover from this spring’s disasters in Japan, Toyota continued its campaign to ready a new wave of high-efficiency electrified vehicles for the marketplace—and those efforts appear to have paid off. Akio Toyoda, president of the Toyota Motor Corporation, recently visited this country to speak at this year’s national Toyota dealer meeting, and he told attendees that the launches of the Prius c, Prius plug-in hybrid, RAV4 electric vehicle and Scion iQ electric vehicle all remain on schedule, with no delays expected.

After the October debut of the all-new Prius v, offering 42 mpg combined and more cargo room than many of today’s small crossovers, Toyota will then introduce its new vehicles as follows:

Prius c—Designed specifically to bring hybrid driving to an urban environment, the compact Prius c is expected to be the most fuel-efficient plugless hybrid vehicle on the market when it goes on sale here in the spring of 2012.

Prius Plug-in Hybrid—Offering about 13 miles of all-electric driving range, as well as hundreds of miles of more driving with the same EPA ratings as the standard Prius, the plug-in model is still scheduled for introduction in the first half of 2012.

Toyota RAV4 EV—This all-electric version of the popular RAV4 crossover, leveraging the same kind of technology that powers the Tesla Roadster, remains on target to hit its launch date late in 2012.

Scion iQ EV—Another urban-friendly vehicle, the fully electrified model of Scion’s eye-catching new iQ city car also continues to be on schedule for its initially projected introduction late next year, with the ability to travel 50-60 miles on a single charge.

For the latest updates on Toyota’s new roster of highly efficient cars and crossovers, as well as the iconic original—the 50-mpg Toyota Prius—visit your local dealership and keep reading Toyota in the News.

There’s no denying that Toyota truck owners are passionate about their trucks. No other truck manufacturer has built up a reputation for reliability and durability quite like Toyota trucks. This is precisely why quality Toyota truck accessories may make for the perfect gift for any Tundra or Tacoma owner this holiday season. Below are 10 of the best Toyota accessory ideas.

Bed Extender

While Toyota trucks offer some of the largest bed capacities in their class, there never seems to be enough space for some truck owners. This is why a durable bed extender can be quite handy. Made from a strong aluminum alloy, the bed extender from Toyota can attach to the rear portion of your truck’s bed and lock into place to prevent theft.

Bed Liner

The bed of any truck can become worn and unsightly from even moderate hauling and cargo carrying duties. To prevent this common, yet unsightly wear and tear on the bed of your truck, you may consider a strong polyethylene polymer bed liner which is resistant to warping and punctures.

Cargo Divider

The bed of a Toyota truck is designed perfectly for large items. But when carrying smaller items, it’s annoying to listen to things roll and tumble from even the slightest of turns or small bumps. The solution is a cargo divider made from tough aluminum which easily attaches to Toyota’s Deck Rail System and keeps smaller cargo in place.

Locking Bike Attachment

Toyota truck owners love the outdoors, especially those shoppers at Toyota Albuquerque. This is precisely why a bike attachment may be one of the best Toyota truck accessories for the holidays. Like the cargo divider above, the locking bike attachment effortlessly attaches to the bad via Toyota’s Deck Rail System to keep your bike secure on the way to the trail.

Tonneau Cover

There are two downsides to having a truck. For starters, the bed of your truck is open and exposed, meaning items are susceptible to theft. Secondly, the bed of the truck weakens aerodynamics, and may hamper fuel economy. A solution to both problems is a lockable Tonneau Cover, which is for Los Angeles Toyota dealers is a high-demand accessory. The Genuine Toyota Tonneau Cover also is high-strength and low-weight, and can be color matched to your Truck. It’s also weather resistant and features a LED light inside.

Interface Kit for iPod®

Everyone these days seem to have an iPod®. So why shouldn’t you be able to listen to it in your truck? The Interface Kit for iPod® controls your iPod® easily, and enables you to control your driving tunes straight from your steering wheel. Kingston Toyota dealers have seen plenty of demand for this accessory, as it provides the ultimate control over your driving tunes.

Sirius Satellite Radio

There’s nothing more important than having great driving tunes to compliment your journey. But sometimes your CDs and MP3s get old. Sirius Satellite Radio offers loads of stations and programming geared to just about anyone’s tastes in music. Don’t listen to music? No problem, Sirius also has quality talk radio as well!

Under Seat Storage

While having a cargo divider in the bed of your truck can be extremely helpful, a similar storage unit can also be helpful inside the truck. An Under Seat Storage unit can be just what you need to store miscellaneous gear, and Oxnard Toyota drivers say it keeps junk out of the way for added passenger space.

Emergency Assistance Kit

Although Toyota trucks are leaders when it comes to reliability and safety, you never know what trouble you may find on the open road. This is why an Emergency Assistance Kit can be a wise purchase. From a flashlight to booster cables, you can be prepared for a number of emergency situations with this kit.

TRD Performance Air Intake

While Toyota trucks offer loads of power, you can really never have enough. For more powerful acceleration and added horsepower and torque, you might want to consider a TRD Performance Air Intake. These 50-state emissions legal intake systems make for a simple solution to boost power and performance.

Just how reliable are Toyota trucks? Toyota over the years has been able to build a prominent reputation for selling well-built, reliable, and long lasting pickup trucks. Despite the recent distaste among many American consumers for thirsty trucks and SUVs, Toyota is still building some of the highest quality trucks on the road, and knowing that your truck is going to last without maintenance certainly goes a long way according to Spokane Toyota and St Paul Toyota truck shoppers.

It’s because of this reputation that the folks across the pond at Top Gear decided to see what it would take to destroy one of these ultra tough, long-lasting trucks. Better know a good equipment leasing company, because using only basic tools and no spare Toyota parts to make necessary tweaks, the Top Gear team did everything they could to kill a Toyota truck.

Top Gear – killing a Toyota pt 1 – BBC

Spoiler Alert!! Clearly the Top Gear team has discovered that you just can’t kill a Toyota truck. Although plenty of new car shoppers at Toyota dealer Durango CO are avoiding truck inventory like the plague, many shoppers are still relying on the Tacoma and Tundra as the quality and reliability leaders in their respective segments.

* * *

Look no further for Toyota truck information.
