For 2011, Toyota’s venerable Tacoma pickup will be receiving more of what drivers seem to really want, as more automatic transmissions will be offered as standard equipment. Specifically, a total of three manual gearboxes will be cut from the Tacoma lineup, while-five new autos will be added.
Prices for the 2011 Toyota Tacoma will begin at $16,365. The base model will continue to come with a manual transmission, two-wheel drive, and regular cab. The top of the line Tacoma will have a price tag of $27,525 and feature a V6 engine, four-wheel drive, an automatic transmission, and a double cab with a long-bed configuration. Owners who use their Tacomas as work trucks like the extra cargo capacity of the long-bed, a Boston Toyota dealer says.
Engine choices for the 2011 Tacoma include a 2.7-liter unit that produces 159 horsepower and a 4.0-liter V6 that produces 236 horsepower. These are familiar power numbers when compared to the previous model so expect mileage to be about the same as well, with the four-banger averaging 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway while the V6 will average about 16 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.
The Tacoma has always been a formidable entry in the compact truck segment, and even Nissan Quotes Auburn WA admit that the latest model is priced competitively. However, a competitive price may not be enough to keep the Tacoma at the top of the heap, especially as the automaker continues to rebuild its tarnished image.
