In an effort to ensure all electronic stability control systems are operating safely, Toyota has announced a voluntary safety recall on nearly 50,000 early-2003 model year Sequoias.
Although there have been no injuries or accidents associated with the issue related to the Sequoia SUV, Toyota is responding to concerns that the stability control system could briefly activate at slow speeds, which would make acceleration more lethargic than expected or temporarily unresponsive.
“Toyota is committed to investigating customer complaints more aggressively and to responding quickly to issues we identify in our vehicles. As a result, we are voluntarily launching this recall to ensure that as many 2003 Sequoias as possible are serviced to the full satisfaction of our customers,” said Steve St. Angelo, Toyota chief quality officer for North America.
Those in the Santa Fe area should visit Toyota repair Santa Fe to obtain assistance.
While another recall is probably the last thing Toyota needs, it does show that the automaker has continued to hold up its promise to move swiftly when potential issues arise.
