Toyota Reports February Sales

by Toyota in the News on March 2, 2010

What we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. Toyota just released their February sales figures, and the results are exactly what was to be expected.

With increasing scrutiny on Toyota’s recall issues not only from consumers, but also from lawmakers, sales fell a total of 8.7 percent compared to a year ago. The Toyota division saw a decrease of 10.6 percent with Lexus down 5.2 percent from February of last year.

Overall, February sales were relatively bleak, but there were some bright spots. Toyota saw a 5.7 percent increase in light truck sales led by the Tacoma. The all-new 4Runner SUV was also up by 54.7 percent compared to last year. Lexus passenger car sales were also up by 4.5 percent and Lexus light trucks were up 5.8 percent.

Even despite troubles, Boulder Toyota believes that Toyota’s reputation when it comes to light trucks and SUV. These recent sales figures are an indication of that, at the very least. Meanwhile, used Toyota sales among pre-owned Toyota dealerships in Santa Fe NM have reportedly fared somewhat better than new sales, indicating that Toyotas still have a positive reputation when it comes to value.
